I'm thinking that the Apple watch will be sort of like a remote control that
also sends info to, and receives info from, your iPhone. The speaker in the
watch might serve as a way to alert you with beeps, while responses from Siri
and other such info would come through the iPhone. Textual data would show on
the watch or, maybe, heard through the phone. This is only guesswork, though.

That would be like saying a sighted person would have to look at the iPhone
to see the information the watch provides. Yes, the watch requires an iPhone,
but it will have its own apps and one major roll is to give access to
notifications and messages/emails quickly so if it doesn’t speak it will be of
little or no use to a blind person.

my understanding is that the watch does little by itself, and must be paired
with an i device, so accessibility will likely be provided through the I device.

The latest-generation iPod shuffles have VO on them, so why not the Apple
Watch? I won't be able to buy one for the time being, but I'm intensely curious
about it.

If Apple can make the Apple watch accessible, they will make it accessible.
Personally, after watching the keynote again, I will be amazed if they can
pull it off. This device is very small.
But I am also wondering if having the apple watch would deliver any
advantage over the way I use my iPhone.

But that being said... If the Apple watch is accessible, I will be one of
the first to buy one. I am kind of a gadget not.
