Bugs like this one are, in my opinion, why we should be able to return to
IOS 7.1.2 if we choose. The one thing that really stops me from immediately
going to 8 is this no return factor.

While I often dictate phone numbers that I wish to dial, there are occasions
that I need to manually dial numbers. If there is any problem in doing this,
that would be a showstopper for me and prevent me from upgrading the iOS
eight.

Remember too that a show stopping bug for one person might be just an an
annoyance to another. I know I updated to IOS 7 when it first came out,
and I put up with a few annoyances, such as hearing screen lock twice and
VoiceOver not being muted when you hit the mute switch. I thought the
upgrade was worth it, but there were definitely others on the list who
regretted it. I respect Sieghard's opinion though, and he's more critical
of the bugs in IOS 8 then he was of the bugs in IOS 7, so I plan to wait
to hear more about these bugs myself before upgrading. I may not wait for
the fixes, I just need to know more about the bugs. They could very well
be in features of the phone I don't use. There's also nothing I've seen in
IOS 8 that I can't wait to get my hands on. Alternative keyboards and some
other functions are definitely some features I want to look into but
nothing I can't wait until November to play with. Once IOS 8 is released
on Wednesday, the beta testers won't be bound by their NDA, so we'll hear
more details. Plus all of those who grab IOS 8 right away will be able to
tell us about their experiences.

Hi Lori,
First of all, yes, any new iDevice will come with iOS 8 preinstalled as
of next Wednesday.
Will bugs disappear by January? Well, I sure hope so but of course
nobody can say for sure. I would say, however, that it is extremely
likely that the major bugs will be resolved by then. I really wouldn’t
loose any sleep over that at this point. You also might want to ask
yourself whether upgrading from an iPhone 5 to the 6 or 6 Plus is
necessary for you. What problems do you have with your iPhone 5 which
require you to upgrade? If you just want to upgrade because you can
afford it and want the latest then that is of course a good enough
reason, but I think the next generation of the iPhone 6 whether it will
be called the 6S and 6S Plus or something else, will be much improved as
they will be the second generation of larger devices It would be my
guess that the touch screen might be completely made from sapphire
crystal and I really don’t see how Apple will continue with an 8 MP
camera for the fifth year in a row, they will have to put in a much
better camera next year or people will get really upset. Anyhow, these
are just my thoughts. If I was still on a 4S I would totally upgrade, no
question. But with a 5 there wouldn’t be quite as much incentive for
me.they might

Hi Sieghard,
So what your saying is ios 8 has major bug issues, am I right? If
that's the case,I can't even upgrade my iPhone 5 to a iPhone 6 or 6
plus until January 2015, when my 2 year contract with at&t is up. Then
I can upgrade to a iPhone 6 or 6 plus. Now do you think apple will have
the bugs in ios 8 fixed and resolved? Also, is ios 8 already installed
on the iphone 6 and 6 plus?
If the bug fixes are not fixed and resolved by Jannuary 2015, I will
not upgrade my iPhone 5 to either a iPhone 6 or 6 plus until ios 8 bug
issues are fixed and resolved and totally accessable to us blind
individuals . Does this make senxe? Take care.
