Hello Olivia. So far, I've found the automatic flash setting works best. It all depends on the light conditions where you are. Also, make certain the document is flat on the table. Use the field of view report to rotate the phone such that it's as close to 0 degrees as possible. I've found that the larger the document you're trying to scan, the higher off the table you have to hold the phone so that it all fits in the camera's view. Tuilt is also very important. You may find the tuilt guidance setting helpful. This causes your phone to vibrate less often the flatter you hold it over the page. If you feel no vibration and the field view report says all four edges are visible, you should get a good result. Without being there and feeling what you're doing, I'm not sure what else to suggest.
