hi all.
I 'm not surprised with the bugs in the new ios8.
I expected this.
apple in recent times has been to ignore the beta testrs
and each time it will be worse ...
We will never use iphone with responsibility on the part of the apple.
apple will never take responsibility to solve old problems and new ...
we wait months and years and never will solve ...
cheers.

Lynn, Cheryl, and list,

A number of excellent resources are always available on release day to talk you through the new features and explain what bugs you should expect to encounter, many of which have already been mentioned. One other resource that I haven't seen mentioned yet is AppleVis.com <http://AppleVis.com>. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but I tend to find their information extremely well written. I understand that they will be releasing a number of free resources and guides tomorrow to outline the major new changes and bugs. I would definitely keep an eye on www.applevis.com <http://www.applevis.com> as well as this list for more information.

Wow, what a shame. I was so excited about iOS eight and even getting a new phone, but with what you are saying, it seems I shouldn't do either, at least for a while. Thanks so much for the heads up. At least now I won't be in such a hurry to update or get the new phone.

I'm assuming that my new phone will come with iOS8 installed. If so, I will hold my other phone and maybe my iPad back until I have worked with it on the new phone and I will advise a couple of people I help not to update immediately so that either things will improve or I will know how tohelp them first. But if I can use the new iOS on my new phone, then I will update my other devices even if there are some bugs.

I tried and tried to turn over a new leaf.
I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper
thrown in the trash!
Then God gave me a new heart and life:
His joy for my despairing tears!
And now, every day:
"This I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord
never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness."

I think since I still have a 4S for now and won't get out in the rush for the new next week that I may for the first time hold off on the upgrade.
Usually I grab it he first day last year it was four days due to
circumstances beyond my control but sounds like I need to upgrade my phone first and that probably won't happen for a few more weeks, I am eligible
through Verizon, have been for over a month now but...

Then again, who knows, I may go for it anyway but at this moment I am of the opinion that I need the newer phone first. Which one, I don't know, screen size is of no matter to me but camera stability is, since I have to use the
phone to identify a lot now.

Are you willing to comment as to whether version 8 is not very usable
with these bugs or not? I'm one of these who wants to install new
things asap regardless of the consequences. However, if it is so buggy
that it's hard to use then I won't. The problems which people
complained about last year didn't bother me to much if that says
anything.

iOS
8 at this time (the Goldmaster or release version) has the most Voiceover issues of any release and some of these are not just little things like Voiceover saying "Screen Locked" twice which it did for a long time after
iOS 7 was released.

I have been running the iOS 8 Beta since June and as far as I can tell
Apple
has listened to hardly any of the feedback and bug reports provided by
blind
beta testers. There have been 5 Beta versions and now the Goldmaster and almost all of the most serious and annoying bugs are still there. I hope that they react faster once the public release happens next Wednesday and hopefully blind people start flooding Apple Accessibility with emails and
phone calls about these issues.

I will post a list of the 5 or so bugs which bug me the most and which I know other beta testers have reported as soon as the iOS 8 update comes
out.
Anybody who wants to read about them just look for a post on Wednesday,
September 17 with subject "The top 5 most annoying bugs in iOS 8 with
Voiceover".

What bothers me is that a few of these issues are not specifically
accessibility related and they don't happen if Voiceover is not running
but
as soon as Voiceover is on you suddenly are plagued by this and that.

Sieghard
