I wouldn't go so far as saying it's a piece of crap, but what does concern me has been a recent pattern of poor quality assurance. Some problems with iOS 7 were fixed, and some we just learn to live with. Apple has the appearance of a company that is pushing things out the door entirely too quickly. When one does that, there are always consequences. I am watching what's going on, and waiting the moment before I update to iOS8.
