Hi Shannon, If your phone is locked putting your finger on the home button without actually pushing it won't do anything. You still have to pus the home button, only then will your fingerprint be read. With a little bit of practice you basically should get to a point where you push the home button, release it but keep your finger on the button lightly for maybe half a second or a second. That's usually all it takes for me to unlock the phone, it works so well that I would say it's even faster than unlocking a phone that doesn't have a passcode/touch ID set up at all. In that case you have to press the home key, then find the unlock button and double tap it or touch the screen and do a 3-finger swipe right to left. My phone is usually unlocked by the time I'd located the unlock button.

This would be all well and good if I could locate dots 1, 2, and 3. 4, 5, and 6 seem to be no problem. Basically, the keyboard is pretty useless to me as it is. I don't understand about calibrating, and, no matter how hard I try, I can't figure out the dot placement. Can anyone offer advice on either of these issues? If so, I'd appreciate the assistance.
