Hi Wayne, I should have maybe expressed this more carefully. I actually don't know if scanning 3 different fingers, for example, will make a difference. I definitely know, however, that scanning the same finger into multiple prints so to speak will make it worse for me. By that I mean you set up fingerprint 1 with let's say your thumb. Then you add another print and again scan the same thumb and so on. Like I said, in the beginning when touch Id was fairly new I read somewhere that if you scan the same finger 2 or 3 times it is better, but for me at least it was worse in that it worked OK at first, but as time went by it seemed to get worse and worse. I also know others had that problem where the recognition success seemed to get worse over time and in my case it finally was fantastic and stayed so when I just scanned my thumb once and that's all I have. Now the only time Touch Id doesn't work for me is when I just finished a project in my woodworking shop where I used contact cement or wood glue or varathane and I have the stuff all over my finger tips! Then it's back to entering my passcode for a few days until it wears off.

Looks like I can delete the extra fingers I have and totally rely on my left thumb. That would also explain why the right index finger has been half successful for me.
