Hi Andrew,

I would normally agree with Kelly and recommend the iPhone 6. However, given
what you said about your financial situation may not make it worthwhile. If you
could find a really good deal on a 5S (I would probably wait and see what
promotions come around for Black Friday and Cyber Monday) then the 5S will be
an awesome upgrade for you. As Kelly pointed out, the difference in speed
between the A7 and A8 is not nearly as significant as it was between the A6 and
the A7 and for all practical purposes the camera improvements between a 5S and
a 6 will be irrelevant for you. Whether the somewhat better battery performance
is a major factor depends on how you use the phone and I would say that if you
take good care of your device that you will easily be able to use it for the
next 4 years even if during the last year you may not be able to upgrade to the
new OS any more. I also feel that any smartphone like this doesn't have much
more than a 4-year life span and providers certainly make it easy for people to
upgrade after 2 or 3 years by offering upgrade options with contract which are
either free or cost maybe $100 which is in most people's reach.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: iPhone 5S vs. iphone 6

Hi,

Based on one’s financial situation, what is your opinion about getting an
iPhone 5S as opposed to iphone 6? Please give me your honest opinion. Yes,
I’m looking at the matter from the point of view of someone who will have to
take a small loan to get a new iPhone. So I’d like to know whether I would
notice a significant difference in performance between iPhone 5S and iPhone 6?
Many of you on the list have been using iPhone for a variety of tasks in
difficult situations. Please let me have your experiences. I read that iPhone
5S has a A7 chip which would make it possible for me to use Alex. I guess it
has more other opportunities, advantages, I mean. On the other hand, iPhone 6
offers the A8 chip and maybe just maybe a different future possibility? Please
let me hear your voices experiences. I’m not a particularly powerful iPhone
user as yet.

Many thanks

Andrew
