hi,

This openion ight be late but, I went from a 4S to a 6+ just because I don't upgrade often and I wanted the best phone at hte time so that it'd last as long as possable before ios would leave it behind. I would also agree withthe storage issue. I bought the 124 gig moddle of the 6+ just because I'd rahter have too much storage than not enough. At the end of hte day it's all in what you can efford.

I wish you the best,
Billy Maynard

Although if money wasn't a factor I would choose the 6 over the 5s for
the reasons already stated, one factor which I feel is even more
important is the amount of memory on the phone. I would suggest that
it is more important over the long run to have at least a 32gb phone
than it is to have a 6. Although we have Apple Pay in the U.s. many of
us can't use it because our banks don't support it yet. I will also
say that even though people say the difference in the battery life
between the 5s and 6 is not that large, I find it to be quite
significant. The difference in price between the two phone should only
be $100 which I know can be a lot of money. The bottom line is that
you need to decide which of the feature changes you care about.

Hello Andrew and Shawn,

Shawn, you made a good point which I forgot. The support for Apple Pay would be a very compelling reason for me to get a 6 if I was living in the States.
But as you mentioned, Canada won't see Apple Pay for a while although it
would be my guess that Apple Pay will be in Canada before too long as our
financial and credit card systems are similar. I fully expect that I will
upgrade again next year, but with Apple Pay taken out of the equasion there
really isn't enough reason to upgrade from a 5S to a 6.
As far as how much of a compelling reason Apple Pay is for you, Andrew, that
is entirely up to you. I am very intriqued by it and feel it is very well
thought out and implemented based on what I heard about it. It appears to be
an Apple product in the old way when Apple would not release half-baked
stuff as they sometimes have done in the last couple of years.

Sieghard

Hi Andrew. I agree with Sieghard about getting a 5S. I know with myself when
I got my 5S, I was only getting $60 for my 4S. I wanted a 32 GB 5S but I
settled for 16 because it was only $100 so I only had to pay about $40 for
it plus $15 for the sim card from Telus.

As for processors, I'm not a power user as well. I don't use Safari because
I have a Mac to surf the internet with. So the A7 chip is good enough for
me. As long as I can use Alex on my phone, that's good enough for me. Yeah
sure, the A8 chip on the 6 and 6 Plus sounds good, but like Sieghard said, I
don't think there would be any improvements to speed. Also, we in Canada
can't use Apple Pay, which is one of the biggest features of the 6 so
there's really no point. I'll worry about upgrading when iOS can no longer
be upgraded on my 5S.

Hi,

Based on one's financial situation, what is your opinion about getting an
iPhone 5S as opposed to iphone 6? Please give me your honest opinion.
Yes, I'm looking at the matter from the point of view of someone who will
have to take a small loan to get a new iPhone. So I'd like to know
whether I would notice a significant difference in performance between
iPhone 5S and iPhone 6? Many of you on the list have been using iPhone
for a variety of tasks in difficult situations. Please let me have your
experiences. I read that iPhone 5S has a A7 chip which would make it
possible for me to use Alex. I guess it has more other opportunities,
advantages, I mean. On the other hand, iPhone 6 offers the A8 chip and
maybe just maybe a different future possibility? Please let me hear your
voices experiences. I'm not a particularly powerful iPhone user as yet.

Many thanks

Andrew
