None to any of your questions, maybe this is just something that started in iOS 8 since I remember I could delete photos this way. But since I have been using iOS 8 since June and throughout the beta cycle I honestly can't remember if this when this started. Let's see if somebody else who is running iOS 8 and who has a Windows 7 PC can try this and confirm what I get.
