I have a 4s on 7.1.2 and 8.1.1 now; and both seem to work Ok, no obvious speed losss, though not a heavy user, so don't press it too hard either. I'll carry on a bit longer, but look like going 8.1.1 all the way at this rate; just a 4S and iPad Mini 1g model to go. We don't get a lot of feedback from 1st gen Mini users here.
