I have been playing around with the bug. It is not always the case that
pushing the back button or doing the scrub gesture, results in a unstable
behaviour. Everytime I tried to get out a radio stream with the back button
or gesture I got the problem reproduced but switching back from one normal
site to another often occurs without any inconveniences. But when the bug
occurs, it makes no sense to touch the status bar or whereever on the screen
out of the safari area. But I also have good news: when putting voiceover
off, touching the status bar and put it on again, the problem was solved and
I could read the page on which I had landed after the back button was
pressed.
Regards
Davy

Subject: Re: Is Safari bug fixed when going back a page?
Can anyone confirm that this strategy - touching the status line to
re-focus -- works? I am holding off upgrading primarily for this
reason now, and if this work-around works, then perhaps I will take
the plunge.
It would be helpful if someone on this list could publish a list of
the known accessibility problems that continue to exist with 8.11 and
the work-arounds that exist to circumvent the problems. I'll bet lots
of us would appreciate this.
Thanks.

Hi Arnold,
Obviously, people are having varying results. In my case, I use Safari a
lot
on an iPad mini and my iPhone 5S. I have found that the workaround
touching
the status bar works extremely well in almost all cases. I really hope
they
fix the problem, but I have not found it to be a huge impediment to my
successful web surfing.

I thought I remembered reading on this list that when this going back a

have yet to upgrade from 7.1.2. I was planning to do so, probably this
weekend, but if this work around, or a work around, is not found for this
bug, I probably will delay upgrading again, being that I use Safari quite
often.

Subject: Re: Is Safari bug fixed when going back a page?
after upgrading to ios 8.1.1 on my 5th generation ipod touch I still have
the
following issues.
When you activate any link on any web page in Safari when running
Voiceover,
the moment you activate the Back button or use two-finger scrub, complete
instability occurs, it is not possible to flick through the content of
the
page, no links or headings typically are being reported in the rotor, and
the page is generally just not navigable in any way.
Another Safari issue with Ios 8.1.1
With Ios 7 I could start flicking from the top of a webpage to the bottom
of
the webpage. With Ios 8, this no longer seems to be the case. Almost
all
of the time voiceover reads the status line at the bottom of the screen
instead of continuing to the bottom of the webpage.
When using the rotor to select to navigate by headings or links, In most
cases, voiceover will not read all of the headings or links on the
webpage.

In 8.1.1 is that bug fixed? Currently with 8.1 when I go back a page
voiceOver completely locks up on me and I can't do anything on that page.
Sometimes, I lose voiceOver completely. I understand that I can
experiment
for myself after I update but according to iTunes it's going to take 2
hours
to download the update. :(
Thanks for any info,
Christina
