As Alex said, if you move your finger on to the next item, you won't have to
hear the hint. When you stop, you will hear it.

Hello
Before I go poking around in settings again, I'm wondering if when vo says
something like "Find I Phone double tap to open" if that latter phrase is
spoken because shortcut hints is on? I find it distracting and that it
somehow contributes to my not finding the next icon more quickly. I'm trying
to locate the icons without having to flick in great hopes I will get better
at simply touching the right spot for a particular icon. If I turn that help
off I imagine other things will also get turned off which I probably don't
want to turn off just yet. There is so so much to do and learn!
