Chris,

My Google gMail email address is my primary email account.

Using iMap, as long as one has the native iOS mail app configured to
automatically move any deleted messages to the Trash folder on the server
(described in a previous post to this list) it is not necessary to manually
move deleted messages to the Trash Folder in order to have messages
successfully deleted from other folders.

When such configuration is active, simply deleting the message or group of
messages will place the items in the Trash folder on the remote servers.

I do this daily and the benefit is that I can actually delete a message on one
device and restore it from the server trash folder on a different device should
I choose.

Terri,

I see from your email address that you have a Gmail account. In order to delete
an email from this provider on your iPhone, you have to double tap the move
button, then select the Trash folder. Unfortunately, the only way to delete
multiple emails at once is to:

1. Open your Inbox.
2. Double tap the Edit button.
3. Double tap on each email one by one to select it.
4. Go down to the bottom of the screen and double tap the Move button. On the
Move screen, double tap on the trash folder. All selected emails will then be
moved to the trash folder.

HTH,

Chris Nusbaum
