I have iPhone, iPad and Mac. And an old machine that is running linux. No
Windows at present but have had that too. I like everything I have, but I
understand the issue of not accumulating possessions. If that's your priority,
maybe you should just get a newer phone with more storage. If I had to only
have two things, it would be my iPad that I would eliminate though I wouldn't
want to get rid of it. If I really could do everything I needed to do without a
computer and wanted to get down to one item, I'd keep my phone. It isn't that
there aren't some nice things about an iPad vs a phone but if I really was
going to choose only one, it would be the phone. Now, if an iPad were also a
phone device, it might be a harder decision to make.

I tried and tried to turn over a new leaf.
I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper
thrown in the trash!
Then God gave me a new heart and life:
His joy for my despairing tears!
And now, every day:
"This I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord
never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness."

Ok, understood. Thanks for the dual clarification. Am I the only one who has
trouble making a decision about what best will serve my needs? I want to stream
line my existence, and part of that is not expanding my possessions. The beauty
of the IPhone is that it is small and durable and easy to carry around in one
hand, leave on a ledge near the bed, etc. I’m still not there in terms of what
to do first! I’ve only got 3.7 ggs available storage on the phone I’ve got.

Accept you won't find a device with the 64 bit processor that doesn't have the
retina display.
At least, as far as I know, which is why I say check with others and do your
own research into the features you want.
In my opinion, there isn't much point in buying a new device with the slower
processor as things are going in the direction of putting more and more demands
on the processor capability of these devices.
