Hello all
I just read through some things on using the phone and on contacts. Nowhere
did I see anything to explain why when after I close messages or phone I am
still left with something akin to an app or icon that says "people" and then
lists everyone's name that I have put in contacts followed by a button which
will allow me to do various things in regard to them. It says for example,
"Miles" or "communicate with Miles." I find this unbelievably annoying, and
it is not an app that can be closed without turning off the phone. After I
close everything, all that is left in the app switcher is Home and then this
People thing. I looked in settings and never saw anything that might have to
do with this.
And, what a disaster last night. I neglected to read on how to end a
call and was simply looking for some kind of button. I thought I knew that
if someone called me and I wanted to stop talking and end the call, all I'd
have to do is take the phone away from my ear and it will end the call. What
I did was dial an old contact from the previous user when I meant to delete
it. I got her voice mail then I couldn't end the call. Now I am suspicious
of what I have since read, that to end a call a two finger double tap or
hitting the power button twice will end the call. Last night when I held on
the power button in a desperate attempt to end the call, I heard a
crackling, or something not at all like a sound effect other than the swoosh
which I did hear at some point. I hope I have not damaged the phone in any
way. So far it is running fine today but while listening to an old Fresh Air
episode there was an odd electrical interrupt kind of sound which I hope was
related to that program and nothing to do with the hardware of the phone. So
much for the innocence or benefit of randomly exploring around. The only
other thing that is throwing me a bit is that sometimes when the keyboard
comes up it seems like I can't get to anything else like buttons to say done
or cancel. Normally I see all the usual elements on a screen with a keyboard
but I seem to be getting somewhere where the keyboard takes up the entire
screen. Am I imagining this?
