I'm doing that now too even though I already shut down all the auto resume
features. I might test that out though, I thought I had already tried that
and it didn't solve the issue. I'll give it another try though to make sure
it's not my error.

Two finger double tapping pauses audio it does not stop it. Two-finger
double tapping also resumes audio. To prevent TuneIn audio from resuming
playback in other apps, be sure to activate the stop button in a now playing
station in the TuneIn app. The stop button can be found on the lower right
of the screen. It is activated with a one finger double tap.
