This is funny. I noticed that too. The explanation on the phone itself is
unclear about the child thing. It leads you to believe you can designate
anyone as a "child" but you've tested it and you say that is indeed not
true.
I just called my local Apple store. An unlocked iPhone 6 64 runs
around 749 plus tax. Verizon might sell me a package for $50 a month and a
phone for $199. Doing the calculations of the cost of an unlocked phone plus
the cheapest of non contract minutes I could buy verses say $800 for a year
of Verizon services plus the second year.... well, it's gotten to be a
slightly harder decision. Oh, then I can "recycle" through Apple the old 4S
if I want but I don't know how much I'd get for it. So, I don't really plan
to be traveling overseas, but who knows. And I don't plan to sell the phone
either, so unlocked might not be such an issue other than not wanting to get
locked into contract. My remaining question is if anyone who has a phone
they got from Verizon noticing any drawbacks to the phone or their overall
package? As Mark wrote, the T Mobile phone had more options but I don't know
how that would influence me in my rather limited use as opposed to things
Mark would be doing with his phone.
Lastly, I called Bes Buy and could not get through. I know that they
are a designated Apple ... but do they sell the phones for any cheaper than
the Apple stores, or are the prices across the board the same? My fingers
are tingling, I'm not ready to go to their sites and check! Any pointers
would be helpful. Deidre
