Hello Dave the payment method that is entered by the organizer is shared by all
members in family sharing. I am the organizer for my family and when my husband
purchases anything it is billed to the card that I have on file. After he makes
a purchase I get an email letting me know that he purchased it because his
email address is there and I get detailed info as to the name of the app or
song as well as the amount. Because my daughter is a minor I have it set up
that she is not allowed to download anything unless I give her permission. If
she tries to make a purchase I immediately receive an alert letting me know
that she wants to download or purchase something. It tells me if it is free or
if there is a cost. I then have to select yes or no. If I say yes to allow
permission it will automatically begin to download to her iPod in my case. If I
say no she would get a message letting her know that it was denied. HTH

Thanks very much Deidre and Richard for yor answers to my questions. The first
is clear, you can be part of a family group but live some distance apart from
members within the group. The second I'm not so sure about although having just
the credit card info for the organiser of the group does make one think
payments would be deducted from that card. If that is the case then your point
Richard about trusting members of the group is most important.
