Oh man, you're totally right, Yu mentioned this to me once and I completely forgot about that. As if github is really going to incite riots and discontent in PRC. Really? Come on! Argh, that's got to be so frustrating! Though don't they just mangle DNS? If so, you could always "cheat" by pointing at un-mangled DNS servers. I think even google provides some.
