A colleague of mine has been testing the Java viewer as a potential replacement for the X11 viewer when called by our application (described below as "the launcher"). Here are some preliminary findings from my colleague, tested on Debian, because he doesn't have a Mac. * The launcher uses "vncviewer -help" to get the version number, but the Java equivalent "java -jar VncViewer.jar -help" does not print a version number. * The "-user" seems to be ignored and it defaults to the current local username. * The "-autopass" option doesn't exist.
