I've gotten some activity on ati.cchtml.com and they are pointing at
consumer hardware being useless at glReadPixels() and that I should get
a workstation card.

Those things aren't exactly cheap though, so I was hoping someone here
with a workstation card could do a test and see if it solves the
performance issue. Darrell, perhaps you can dig out that V5700?

Secondly, the 9.9 driver works somewhat well here, but the 9.12
doesn't. This difference is not reflected in the glreadtest numbers. Is
there some other test that might pinpoint why 9.9 is working better
with VirtualGL?
