Hello, I'm trying to use VirtualGL with VirtualBox.
The VirtualBox binary in the Debian Squeeze package as published on virtualbox.org is setuid root. This prevents LD_PRELOAD from working. I tried to follow each of the suggestions in the documentation at http://virtualgl.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/virtualgl/vgl/trunk/doc/index.html#hd0014 but none seemed to work. VirtualBox tells me: "Failed to start the virtual machine [...] This VM was configured to use 3D acceleration, however the 3D support of the host is not working properly and the VM cannot be started." Host 3D support is working properly with VirtualGL so I am puzzled. Help appreciated. Note that I am using 4.1.10 which is known to be broken, but 4.1.8 wouldn't even let me tick the "enable 3D acceleration" box so I had to update. Thanks -- Greetings, A.
