Hi,
This problem has now been resolved.
The Macbook in question was running Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion).
The problem was that Apple are no longer supporting
/Applications/Utilities/X11.app
The solution is to install XQuartz from http://xquartz.macosforge.org/ which
will sit alongside X11.app in /Applications/Utilities/
After installing XQuartz, it is necessary to log out and log back in to ensure
that XQuartz.app will become the default X11 application launched by TurboVNC.
