Possibly.  I can't actually guarantee that the X11.app our user had installed 
was not of the XQuartz variety, but his X11.app was not being recognised as 
being out-of-date by Apple Software Updates.  Now XQuartz.app itself is taking 
care of new version alerts, independent of Apple Software Updates.
