Overlap dialing is an architectural problem with asterisk.
VISDNOverlapDial is the application who receives the digits and looks if an
extension may match.
If it sees an extension which matches and may match more digits, it will spawn
that extension and will continue sending digits (as DTMF frames) until the
extension answers.
If the extension is a vISDN extension, all goes well, as it supports overlap
dialing. If the extension is SIP the number may not be complete.
Unfortunately Asterisk offers NO way for VISDNOverlapDial to know whether the
extension supports or less overlap dialing.
So, we should, in some way, give a hint to VISDNOverlapDial. I'm accepting
suggestions on how.
In the meantime, a workaround is to avoid extensions which match a variable
number of digits.
Bye,
