Well, GTK doesn't support menubar menus to act as "buttons". (They are not buttons actually. They are immediate menu items, rather than pull-down menus.) I don't feel like punishing all the other users just because one toolkit (or two) don't support it. My thinking is, VM normally has these buttons, and the GTK users will have a work-around.
