Greetings,
I will be doing a disaster recovery test mid November. I have been informed that the machine I will be using is a IBM-2064-1C6 with a serial number of 02-00XXXXX
Trying to simulate the test now on a 2nd level zVM system. I am presently running on a 9672. I have changed the OPTION statement for this virtual machine adding ‘CPUID 0XXXXX’ to its directory entry. Will be logging off this machine and re-logging on presently.
Since I can’t change the cputype on my current system what would be the response from the Q CPUID when I actually use this new machine ? Would it be ‘FF0XXXXX20640000’ ? Is there anyway I can have the 2nd level zVm system return a different cputype when one either issues the ‘Q CPUID’ command or uses the DIAG 218 instruction.
Thanks
