For those of you who are wondering, perhaps reading this in the archives 
after doing a Google search....

An "M12" code on a freshly-powered-up 3472 means, "Hit the darned 
'Reset' key and I'll finish powering up, please."

I'm not going to ask why there isn't a timeout function for this pause 
or what its purpose it. I'm sure there's a good purpose, but I'm beyond 
caring at this point. :-)
