Greetings, Cross posted to VSE-L and VMESA-L. We use CA-TPX as our session manager under VM. This uses
VSAM. We also have VM & CSI VSE TCP/IP. Right now most terminal
connections come through VM/VTAM through TPX to our CICS/TS VSE applications via
a virtual CTCA controlled by VSE/VTAM. We should be getting a Z800 computer in the near future and
plan to upgrade our existing zVM 3.1 & VSE/ESA 2.6.1 system. What am I think is the possibility of eliminating (or
reducing) VTAM (both VM & VSE) and from what I am reading in previous posts
CA-TPX since it depends VM/VSAM. Am I correct in assuming CA-TPX will not work when going to
zVM 5 environment ? I am also vaguely aware of the BSI ITAM option to allow you
to connect to CICS/TS application without VTAM. Ideas / suggestions? Thanks MIke |
