Rick, Thank you for the quick reply. The problem is we have been doing this command for several months and have never gotten this message. I did a help and found that we can do a 'diskmap user doends' and it will all dasd in the file. What we can't figure out is why all the sudden this message appeared. I asked th eperson who brought it to my attention if all procedures were followed and they said yes. I was thinking if you didn't alloc the file 1st then do a file it would cause the error. Here's what I mean: 1-xedit user direct c 2-updated changes inserted 3-file 4-diskmap user to create the file 5-xedit user diskmap
I was thinking since I just did the 'diskmap user' w/o the preceding commands this would cause the end problem. Now did I confuse you???????? LOL thanks Mace
