But that illegailty is finally beginning to catch up to MS. They are
being pressed by the FOSS community. Linux is getting better and better,
even for desktop use (although games are still a sore point as best as I
know). PostgreSQL and MySQL are getting better and more powerful. IMO,
OpenOffice is wonderful (Word/Calc/Impress/Draw). Apache always beat the
pants off of MS/ISS both for performance and security. The EU is really
pressing on interoperability (at least so far they seem to be taking a
tough stand - unlike the DOJ here in the U.S.)

If there were a non-MS shop, I cannot think of any reason to not
standardize on Linux. I might even consider some of the BSD variants for
server functions.

There are only three products on Windows that I cannot easily replace.
One is Intuit's Quicken (GNUCash is just too difficult). The second is
Intuit's TurboTax with eFiling. The last is Visio (which is now owned by
MS <blech>).
