Actually, Connect:Direct VM is still being marketed

...regarding IBM's announcement concerning VSE/VSAM

December 15, 2005 IBM has announced that VSE/VSAM was withdrawn from
marketing effective September 30, 2005. In addition, IBM has announced that
VSE/VSAM will end service effective February 28, 2007. VSE/VSAM is a
prerequisite for Connect:Direct for VM. Connect:Direct VM relies
extensively on VSE/VSAM for system control files used by the product
including the transmission control queue (TCQ), network map, message file,
and statistics files. Sterling Commerce has no intention of withdrawing our
VM product from sales or support. We, along with our customers, are working
with IBM to chart a workable solution, and we will keep you informed of
progress in this area. Many of Sterling Commerce's customers rely upon
Connect:Direct VM as a key component of their managed file transfer
infrastructure. While Sterling Commerce will continue to work with IBM on
alternative solutions, we also encourage our customers to exert their
influence with IBM to ensure the continued support of VSE/VSAM. We will
relay any change of status to you as we work to with IBM to modify their
position. In the meantime, you can expect the current Connect:Direct VM 3.2
release to continue to be fully supported by Sterling Commerce. For
additional information or questions concerning this announcement, please
