i had done heavy modification of VMFPLC2 (for all sorts of reasons)
and called it VMXPLC and used it to implement a backup/archive
system. this was deployed at research, hone (vm/370 world-wide, sales,
marketing, field-support operation)

and a couple other internal places.

this went thru a couple internal releases and then a project was
started to make it available to customers. with numerous enhancements
this eventually was released as workstation datasave ... i.e. it added
agents on distributed machines to do backup data transfer.
workstation datasave then morphed into ADSM and is now called TSM
misc. past posts, workstation datasave, adsm, tsm, etc
