I'm using LPR. I can verify that the 7 characters are getting to RSCS in the proper EBCDIC coding because I have the directed the LPR output to my reader.
I've tried to trace the LPR link but I don't seem to be able to use the TRACE command because the link is always inactive except for the transfer time. If I put the TRACE operand in the DEFINE command I can't find any trace information, not even at the TRACEDEST location. -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: Alan Altmark <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > On Friday, 01/20/2006 at 06:52 GMT, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > I working a project to print the seven German characters, äöüßÄÖÜ, using > RSCS. > > > In the TOASCII section I changed the following character location based > on the > > following table: > > > > Char Location Value > > ä 43 E4 > > ö CC F6 > > ü DC FC > > ß 59 DF > > Ä 63 C4 > > Ö EC D6 > > Ü FC DC > > > > giving the table below: > [snip] your table looks fine for EBCDIC code page 37 (US/Canada English). > > > I know that that characters are arriving at RSCS without > > translation, but when the file is printed the characters print > > as blanks except fo the Ä which prints as a ~. > > Arriving without translation?
