It's done and works, though I haven't actually put together the patches for 
it. The apache perl distrib on ftp.sidhe.org's set up this way, though not 
by default. (IEEE math works too)

Are they maybe case issues? That happens sometimes. Also, are they perhaps 
identical routines just in multiple modules?
