Got it, built okay (VMS 6.2-1H3, AXP, DECC 5.5-002)

Two cases of "symbol not found" in SUBCONFIGURE.COM:  localperlver
used for xs_apiversion and pm_apiversion.  Doesn't seem to affect
anything.

Test show all pass, with the single exception
    [.lib]filespec..........FAILED on test 187
which is better than it used to do!

I never figured that the piping changes would make it into 5.6.
There's still some minor changes in the works, mostly handling the
cases when mailboxes fill up.  It turns out that CPAN.pm (which I've
been playing with) makes a pretty good test case for piping code.
