VOLUME:[foo.bar.][baz.biff]file.wif
^ (note the dot here)
is equivalent to
VOLUME:[foo.bar.baz.biff]file.wif
Note that you only get one extension this way:
VOLUME:[foo.][bar.][baz.biff]file.wif
Does not work.
