Hi Lia,
Are you using 'colliding fronts' as the initial segmentation method?
If so, note that only regions where the fronts that are in opposite
directions define the segmented region.
When working on a linear segment that's fine, but when working on a rounded
part the segmentation may be partial.

Is this explanation relevant for your case?
