It's in the update handling of the vncserver. On the vncserver icon, select properties. There check or uncheck when to update and what to update. The more you checkmark, the more server-cpu and more bandwidth is used....

It's not client related, it's the server that does not recognize the screen update. As far as I suspect, it has something to do with optimized or accelerated video drivers which are beyond the reach of the vncserver. Hence there is no solution in vncserver.

Change the update as above or swithch back to a generic video driver and don't use the video acceleration on the vncserver.
