I don't have any problems using WinXPSP1 and IE6.0SP1. Have you tried re-downloading the JVM from Microsoft, or trying the Sun JRE? Do other Java based applets work (http://javaboutique.internet.com/ has some to test, or the Speed Tests from http://www.dslreports.com )?
