I am currently implementing RealVNC 3.3.7 in conjunction with VNCon throughout my organization. When I work on a remote system via VNC, I prefer to leave everything looking pretty much the same as it was when I finish my session; so I have opted to /not/ remove the desktop wallpaper on my clients. Also, since I don't want them playing around with the settings, I have disabled the "servicehelper".
The issue: I know for sure that both the Current User and Default Settings are set to /not/ remove the desktop wallpaper. However, when I initiate a VNC session, the wallpaper is still removed, and it remains removed even after I disconnect. I have noticed, however, that as soon as I load the servicehelper (eg. 'winvnc.exe -servicehelper' from a command prompt), the desktop wallpaper reappears. I have surmised that when started from a service, VNC will use the Default settings; and when started while a user is logged on, VNC will use the Current User's settings. I have double-checked everything -- both settings are identical. Any ideas? --Adam _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
