When I got the confirmation from the list, it had my IP address as 68.164.149.18, which I do not recognize.
When I pass the mouse pointer over the VNC icon in the sys tray I get 172.16.1.xx
I always thought that with DSL I had a static IP address.
So, I don't know what's up.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I tried to run ipconfig on my home machine, but the response popped up and down so fast I could not read it. Like a pop-up ad. I know something is going on with this machine, a Dell Dimension 8100 with Windows ME running, because I sometimes get odd error messages as though there is a pop-up utility running, and I un-installed it months ago. I cannot find anything else in my Windows uninstall utility.
I do have Black Ice -- a firewall -- on this home machine.
Thanks again for your help.

1)ipconfig your work pc.if your ip is 192.168.X.X you are behind a firewall there.
2)ipconfig your home pc.if your ip is 192.168.X.X you are behind a firewall there.
