I've done a search on this one and found a few posts on freezing but they all talk of being able to fix it by minimising and maximising the VNC window.. Here's my problem
Server: Fedora Linux Core 1 running gnome Client: Windows XP Connection: 100meg LAN Upon connection everything is ok.. moving around the desktop is fine.. pulling windows around is all fine.. I was quite excited as it looked perfect and looks to have saved me from trying Xserving with cygwin.. bring up the default gnome console... it appears... ok... start to type.. as soon as i press a character on the keyboard... bam, its frozen... if i use an xterm i can type ok, and get big lists of stuff scrolling by fine.. I assume its something to do with anti-aliased smoothed fonts being used!?!? I get hangs, and crashes from this point on... reconnecting and my typing has generally been input ok.. I've seen the thing about WindowsXP and fast user switching etc.. is this a client, server or both problem? Other than this little hickup i'm excited of its potential.. the only other thing is i will want the server to run at boot time as the server box will not have keyboards or monitors connected to it.. bit off topic but is this possible?! I think i can find the startup scripts but if anyone can point me to one i'd appreciate it.. Cheers Regards James _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
