Thank you very much for your help. I have now even tried a special VNC Version for the dbox2. This plugin can be activated directly - no telnet required - obviously the Dreambox lacks some windows server capability.
I guess I will have to wait until someone ports the software. by the way the result of these commands was ... echo $SHELL - empty line ls -l vncviewer [EMAIL PROTECTED] /hdd/prgs > ls -l -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 19814 Jan 1 1970 svnx -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 79 Jan 1 02:22 vnc.conf -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 40586 Jan 1 1970 vnc1 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 40586 Jan 1 1970 vnc2 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 52096 Jan 1 1970 vnc3 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 54302 Jan 1 1970 vnc4 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 409023 Jan 1 00:11 vncviewer -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 62974 Jan 1 1970 xvnalpha -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 49008 Jan 1 1970 xvnci386 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 52096 Jan 1 00:44 xvncvdeb -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 52096 Jan 1 1970 xvnppc [EMAIL PROTECTED] /hdd/prgs > I tried all these - but do not remember where I got them from - always the same Syntax error. file vncviewer - no file command on Dreambox If I knew more about Linux I would start adapting the SW myself - but I am a real beginner.
