Ok, To get started I am running 98SE / RR Cable Access / Netgear Router I opened port 5900 - Thru the router and tested with http://www.gotomyvnc.com/ Result - xx.xx.xxx.xxx is accepting connections on Display 0 (TCP port 5900). Also went to https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 Sheilds UP - Port Authority Edition Internet Vulnerability Profiling by Steve Gibson, Gibson Research Corporation. 5900 OPEN!Unknown Protocol for this port Unknown Application for this port
And tested the connection with my 2 PC's at home - I can connect to both PC's from the internal IP 192.168.0.2 & 192.168.0.3 and control the other computer also tried the Java connection http://192.168.0.2:5800 - http://192.168.0.3:5800 - and that worked also. But when I try to connect with the router IP it comes failed to connect ......... I checked my IP thru http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/ and it is the same as the routers status properties. What am I doing wrong I tried all I can find, here on the FAQ and I also looked around the web for help I am at a loss on what to do next...........
