Dear Group: I've installed WinVNC 4.0 on a Windows/Me machine. I believe it runs as a service. MSCONFIG displays the following command for WinVNC4 invokacation: "c:\program files\readlvnc\vnc4\winvnc4.exe" -noconsole -service
I'm accessing that windows box from a Linux box running vnc-4.0-1.beta4.11. That Windows/Me machine hangs after a few hours, that is, the vncviewer on the Linux machine disappears and the screen on the windows machine displays the program which was running at the time when WinVNC4 hangs. The keyboard on the machine also freezes. I'm left to reboot the machine. Disconnect idle clients after (seconds) is set to 2000000 as instructed by the workaround in the known bugs section on the realvnc website. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
