No, it's not just you. I, too, have been on this list for a couple of months, and, while it's been very helpful to me, the amount of newbie questions is huge, along with the off-topic emails. Perhaps a FAQ, gleaned from the repeated questions, could be set up, and emailed to the list. Also, this list is archived. We should be pointing people to that, as well as the FAQ.
