Hi James, The solaris viewer is on the same network as the
vncserver. I actually tried viewing it on a windows box at work
(also on the same network), and it was a lot of faster! So, it must be
something wrong with my configuration at home :(

Rachel,

Is the Solaris viewer that you're using on the same network as the server?

Subject: vncviewer is slow on windows

Hi Everyone,

I am running vncserver on my Unix (Solaris) workstation and
when I open
a viewer on either Windows 2000 or XP from home, the response is very
very slow for me, almost to the point where it is unusable. I have
Comcast broadband at home and both computers are at least 1.7Ghz or
higher. I can open up a viewer on another Solaris box
without any slow
response times. Why is my viewer slow on windows but not on Solaris?

Thanks!
Rachel
