this is quite true. The Internet is _no_longer_ the Usenet, but the Usenet
is an essential part of it. Of course, as with IRC, there's a lot of abuse.
But if you say, forget about Usenet, you could as well say, forget about
ftp, smtp, and all the other little protocols that make the internet.
The Usenet will stay for quite a long time, and if only because the WWW (the
youngest part of the net) is not sufficient for that (news reading on deja
isn't really fun).
As said before, for administrators (and VNC is used primarily by
administrators I guess), Usenet is essential.
And of course, the Usenet will also be used by administrators primarily,
because they _know_ about it ;)
That's why there's mostly computer talk on usenet.
